# Introduction

EXA Community is a decentralized initiative focused on the success of [EXA Market](https://exa.market/), an NFT marketplace empowering creators and collectors on the [Algorand blockchain](https://algorandtechnologies.com/). 

It is powered by the [EXA token](https://docs.exa.community/getting-started/governance), which grants the community voting power to have a say in the protocol's future but also to create proposals that can influence the direction of the project.
